Sakus Mission College in collaboration with DDLSA celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th of September 2019 in the college auditorium. As a part of their legal awareness drive, the DDLSA exhorted the students about POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) in order to sensitize the audience about the Act and what it entails. Shri. Ajongba Imchen, Chief Magistrate and Secretary DDLSA shared the awareness about human rights and corruption. He encouraged the teachers to work judiciously and the students to do justice towards their duty as they are the Nation builders. They also emphasized that they provide free legal services to the downtrodden including the students.
The other highlights of the programme included dances, songs and a one act play titled “Refund” by the Drama club, SMC. The Principal, Dr. Arenla Aier exhorted the teachers and the students on their special occasion and gave away the Best Teacher Award 2019 to Mrs. Pranati Das, HoD, Political Science Department, SMC.
