SM College is a premier co-educational institution established in the year 1994 (1st JUNE) by Sakus Family members with prior approval of the State Government vide it's No. EDS/THE/1-1/94 dated 17/03/94.
It is affilated to Nagaland University (NU) vide its No: NCK/AC/C-32/943806 dated 16/01/96 as well as included in the list of Colleges under section 2 (f) & 12 (b) of the UGC Act, 1956 by the UGC vide its No: F-267/2006 (CPP-1) dated 15/06/2007.
The college has been recently accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with CGPA of 2.57 (B+ Grade) for a period of five years from 16/09/2016.
