Career Guidance and Counseling Cell

A Career guidance session with the 6th semester students was initiated under the Career Guidance and Counseling Cell on the 22nd of March 2017, with Rashida Tapadar , General Manager of National Institute for Civil Services Examination , as the Resource person.

One day seminar on ‘Higher Education and Abroad’

10 Students of 6th semester students along with a staff member of career  guidance and counseling cell attended a one day seminar on ,’ Higher Education and Abroad  ‘ on the 17th of November  2017 at Immanuel College.

 

Industrial Motivation Campaign

A one day Industrial motivation Campaign was organized  for the B.A 6th semester students under career guidance and counseling Cell in collaboration with the Department of Economics , SMC on the 25th of January 2018, with Mr. Sabarigiri M, Asst. Director MSME, as the Resource person.

23rd Fresher’s Meet

Sakus Mission College, Dimapur celebrated its 23rd Fresher’s Meet on 1st July, 2017 at the college Auditorium. The seniors of the college, under the supervision of the SMCSU organized a grand function to welcome the new students to the college. Interesting and entertaining items were presented by the students as part of the celebration. The main highlight of the program included exhortation by Mr. Simon Kelio, the Vice-Principal of the college wherein he encouraged the students to lead a responsible life and also to inculcate the values of life along with their academic excellence. The program witnessed a befitting conclusion with Hingwangbe & Sarah Yepthomi of B.A 1st Semester being crowned as Mr & Miss Fresher of Sakus Mission College for the year 2017.

 

23rd Annual Sports Week

Sakus Mission College, Dimapur held 23rd Annual Sports week 2017 from 5th Dec’to 8th Dec. the inaugural programme of the four day-long event was graced by Mr. Toshi, Associate Pastor, DABA, as special guest, in his short speech, exhorts the vibrant young audience saying that, sports is not about experiencing it but it is about winning and losing. Also stated that it would be great in one’s life, if we can play our rules of life like the way we play sports with rules of a game, to emerge as winners of one’s own life. Also encouraged the youngster to put acquired knowledge into action as educated people. However Mr. Toshi also lamented that most of the people today are in the world of internet rather than in the real world.

         The entire four day long sports week culminated with the Red House as overall champion and Blue House emerged as runners up. Mr. Angki of class – XII was adjudged as the Best Player of 2017 SMC Sports Week.

 

Department of History Reports 2017

SMC, Dimapur, Department of History organized a study tour for 40 students, from 4rd -11th  of November 2016. The places covered were   Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, under the  guidance of the Teacher In-charges.

SMC, Dimapur, Department of History, undertook Field Trip cum study tour on 25th November 2017.  26 History Honors students, and Teacher In-charges visited the Green Village ‘KHONOMA’ as a part of the tour.

Nature-Human-Wildlife Co-existence

Two Days Workshop on volunteering for Nature-Human-Wildlife Co-existence – Gandhi Philosophy was conducted on 7th & 8th August 2017 in association with Community based organization of India and Prodigal’s Home in Collaboration with Eco Club, SMC.

 

Female Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer

An Awareness Programme on Female Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer was conducted for the Female Students and female staff of the College. The Resource Persons were Dr. Raleng (General Surgeon) and Dr. Kevi (MO), Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur.

Workshop on Theatre Art and Performance

A three day Workshop on Theatre Art & Performance was conducted for the Drama Club of Sakus Mission College from 31st August – 2nd September 2017, at the college premises. The Workshop was organized by the Drama Club of Sakus Mission College in collaboration and sponsorship of Indigenous Research Centre and Community Theatre. The resource person for the three day workshop was Mr. Temjenzungba Kechu, Theatre Director/Drama Educator. Altogether 18 members of the Drama Club, SMC participated in the workshop.

SMC, TEACHERS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

An enriching interactive Teachers Orientation was led by Mrs. Vikali Chishi (subject matter Expert Telecom Guwahati) on the topic Teachers beyond teaching on 3rd Feb, 2018 at conference hall SMC

SPEECH COMPETITION AT SMC, ORGANISED BY (NEDFi)

Sakus Mission College, Landmark colony Dimapur, held a speech competition under the theme ‘My Vision Corruption Free India’ in continuation with the “Vigilance Awareness Week”, sponsored by North Eastern Development Finance Corporation LTD. (NEDFi) Dimapur on 9th of November 2017 at the college Auditorium. Out of 10 participants, Mr. Dainel of B.A – 6th Semester bagged the Best Orator Award Mr. Akashe and Miss Bendangkumla of B.A – 6th Semester secured second and third places respectively.
The programme was chaired by Miss. Asenla Yanger (Asst. Prof. English), while Mr. Vimeyiel Richa, NEDFI Dimapur Branch Manager addressed the gathering and motivated the students to work hard and to start the change from one self. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Smt. Detono Tepa (AM, NEDFi).
