Sakus Mission College celebrated its 25th Fresher’s Meet – 2019 on 6th of July, 2019 in the college auditorium. The programme started with the invocation by Mrs. Amenla Aier, chaplain SMC. Mr. Manshen, President SMCSU gave his welcome note by welcoming the freshers and telling them not to regret being a part of SMC and that they are among the most skilled and experienced teachers. Dr. Arenla Aier, Principal SMC delivered her speech by acknowledging the SMCSU and seniors for organizing the auspicious event for the new comers. In her speech, she said that an institution can progress only when there is good infrastructure, experienced and dedicated teachers and a supportive management, that the students are at the right institution and their only duty is to give back by being dedicated students. In this modern world, we are distracted by so many things around us but we should be able to focus our targets to achieve with strong determination of knowing and learning. Only classroom learning is not enough to be successful, she also urged by reminding from the book of Matthew 6:36. She concluded her note by saying that we should all come together with the guidance of God.
Other highlights of the program included solo and group dance performances by various students. Wangyat Wangsu and the band enthralled the audience with their special appearance.
Mr. Phiduhto and Miss. Imkumnaro of B.A.1st semester were crowned Mr and Miss Fresher SMC – 2019 respectively. The programme was hosted by Mr. Nokrensashi and Miss. Atula Yaden of B.A 5th Semester. The programme ended with the benediction by Mrs. Senjano Kithan, Asst. Prof. Dept. of History.
