SELF-DEFENSE TRAINING FOR GIRLS AT SAKUS MISSION COLLEGE

Women Development Cell and NSS unit of Sakus Mission College organized a  Self defense training for girls in collaboration with 32 Assam Rifles from 24th to 28th of September, 2018 in SMC campus. The training program aimed to build the self-confidence of the girls and help learn self-defensive techniques to protect themselves and others. Trainers were from National Defense Academy and Assam Rifles who trained the participants on the various techniques basing on circumstantial situation.  Along with SMC girl students, girls from other colleges, hostels and residents from nearby locality participated enthusiastically in large numbers.

The inaugural program of the 5 day long training was graced by Major Y.S. Sheoran 36 Assam Rifles on 24th September, 2018 and the training closed with a short function on 28th September where some girl trainees skillfully demonstrated certain defensive skills in the presence of the esteemed guests Lt.Col. Arun Kumar 32 Assam Rifles and Major Y.S. Sheoran 36 Assam Rifles. Through this column, NSS Unit and WDC of SMC express sincere gratitude to Assam Rifles for their selfless support in this venture of uplifting the girls.
